Jewish tradition does credit Jeremiah the prophet as the author of 2 Kings, Other scholars attribute a group of unknown authors. The true author of this book is unknown. 2 Kings was written between 560 and 540 B.C. Idolatry has disastrous consequences and it causes the ruin of both individuals and nations. God's word is always true and wise. God spoke through his prophets, whose warnings always came to pass. God offers forgiveness and healing for all who sincerely turn from sin and come back to him.
