2 Chronicles 1:1

And Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and Jehovah his God was with him, and magnified him exceedingly.

Jewish tradition credits Ezra the scribe as the author of 2 Chronicles. 2 Chronicles was written about 430 B.C. Through David and Solomon, God established his temple, where people could come to worship. The theme of sin, and loss, and coming back to God, along with restoration runs throughout the back half of 2 Chronicles.
